Our final stop on the riverboat cruise, prior to reaching Moscow, was in the historic town of Uglich, located along the banks of the Volga River. This is one of Russia's oldest towns, dating back to the 12th century (or much later according to local tradition). It was here in 1591 where Ivan the Terrible's son, Prince Dmitry, was murdered, ending the male line of the Rurik Dynasty.
It takes approximately 20-60 seconds for the photos on this page to download.
