Angkor Wat, Cambodia

Cambodia

My trip to Cambodia was part of a larger tour that also included Thailand and Laos. We spent three days in Siem Reap where Angkor Wat is located and spent an entire day touring the famous archaeological temple complex. In Siem Reap we were able to experience a little bit of the night life and market areas and visited the Angkor National Museum (which is an excellent museum). We also drove into the countryside for a ride on an ox-cart, a vehicle still in use today by local farmers, and took a boat ride to see the floating fishing villages that dot the shoreline near Tonle Sap lake (an incredible cultural experience). I really enjoyed my stay in Siem Reap, which is the second-largest city in Cambodia. You can see French-colonial and Chinese-style architecture around the Old Market and former French Quarter areas of the city.
