Montenegro is a small country of under 700,000 people wedged into the lower, southern part of the former Yugoslavia. We spent a day visiting one of its most famous medieval cities, Kotor, situated along the beautiful Bay of Kotor. The walled city's historical quarter has roots dating back to the early Middle Ages and still has many buildings and churches from medieval times. Today, the historic walled city is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site and a popular tourist destination.
